two months, to be exact. only just started picking fur out of all my clothes about a month ago.
probably wouldn't have gotten by if it weren't for the fact everyone here is...weirdly willing to help new arrivals.
for god's sake, i got invited to a barbecue a few days ago. i was convinced it was a joke.
you found a place to stay, yet?

I feel as if I should advise caution with regards to that barbecue.
From what I have heard, they are just as likely to serve flesh as they are... whatever passes for meat on Mars.

I am currently settled in at a little hotel. That's far from a long term solution, however.

too late, i already went. if there's one thing i'm not looking forward to out of this whole monster business, it's the whole...eating human flesh thing.

also, they were serving some beef--from real cows, not just cloned. it was weird.

i know around the business district rent isn't so bad, as long as you're willing to put up with the noise. if you ask around, some monsters might let you stay with them until you get settled.

[He doesn't want to offer Nureyev the option to stay at his apartment--the man may get the wrong idea and then he'd be up to his neck in all sorts of problems.]

[Nureyev hardly knows what he's said wrong. With Juno Steel, it's always hard to tell. Nonetheless, Nureyev is unbothered by the detective's apparent fit.

[What Nureyev says...definitely worries him more than it should. As hard as he's tried to improve in the past few months, he immediately fell back on his old thinking patterns once he saw Nureyev show up.
