JUNO STEEL INVESTIGATIONS

Private detective agency. All expenses paid by client.
Office Hours
Monday to Friday: 11 AM - 7 PM
Sunday: 1 PM - 9 PM

Juno Steel Investigations is a private investigator agency, run by Juno Steel. Whether it be theft, adultery, missing persons and/or pets, background checks, tax fraud, investigating insurance claims, so on and so forth, the gumshoes are on the case. The agency sees all manner of clientele, from the rich and famous celebrities of uptown Bavan who want to dig up the latest dirt on their social competitors, to the terrified and penniless workers of the business district just trying to find their loved ones. All clients pay a flat rate in advance and are billed extra based on various factors. (Or, maybe the boss'll have sympathy for your plight and waive all fees. He's got a soft spot for people down on their luck.)

The investigation agency is located in the downtown area of Bavan on the second floor of a flower shop--which has become increasingly necessary for the types of jobs the agency gets. The rooms are kept relatively clean, depending on Juno's mental state. There's a waiting area outside of the offices, lined with potted plants in various stages of dehydration and a water cooler. A small radio plays the local music station, the notes crackling and warping with dust as they meet the air. Each private investigator has a small office with a desk, a few chairs, and some filing cabinets. Unfortunately, due to limited space, some investigators may have to share an office. But, hey, at least the boss is lenient with how you decorate your own area and how you manage your cases.

As you enter Juno's own office, a ceiling fan helps provide relief in the summer, and a dingy and rusting radiator keeps things warm in the winter. Various paraphernalia lies scattered on the cabinets and shelves that line the room--evidence, or keepsakes? The filing cabinets are one of the few things that are in disarray, but it's clear that whoever's in charge of them just has their own organization system.

Sit down, and get comfortable. The PI is in.

JOBS

Though the firm isn't exactly open for hiring, and Juno isn't particularly inclined to work with other people, your characters are free to try and become an employee at Juno Steel Investigations. You can be a full/part-time private investigator, a secretary...whatever suits your fancy. Just bother Juno enough about it in his private inbox and he'll probably begrudgingly allow you to work there.

☄ First Impressions

♚ VISUAL: Juno is a short person, standing around 5'6" with a somewhat thinner build. He has dark skin, short black curly hair, and usually has a scruffy beard. He has brown eyes, and depending on his canonpoint, either has a cybernetic eye or an eyepatch over his right eye. He has a scar running over the bridge of his nose, after having broken it once. His body is heavily scarred due to how many scuffles he's gotten into during his career.
♚ FASHION: Usually wearing a beige trench coat, a black turtleneck, black pants, and heavy boots. Has no preference between traditionally gendered clothes, but usually doesn't want to put in the effort to make himself look good. Likes clothes that are comfortable and easy to move in. Also a fan of floral print, certain jewelry, and make-up.
♚ DEMEANOR: Very moody, cynical, and sarcastic. Tends to piss people off within five minutes of meeting him. Very difficult to get him to open up or talk about anything. Despite his pessimistic attitude, he hates it when other people get hurt because of him and does his best to avoid this.

☄ Other Notes

♚ GENDER: Gender on Mars is weird. Juno can best be described as bigender/nonbinary, referring to himself with he/him pronouns, "mister", and "man", but also sometimes describing himself as a lady or with other traditionally feminine terms. However, he probably wouldn't ever describe himself with modern terms like transgender or nonbinary, given that Mars has advanced to the point that such language to describe one's gender is unnecessary. He'll likely be confused if asked about this.
Also please don't make any excessively disparaging comments about his gender/presentation even if it would otherwise be IC. As a trans person I get very uncomfortable with this and I will ask you to stop. If it persists, I will cease interacting with you entirely. Questions are fine.
